Bug #22966
closedTaskcenter - how to create a task?
0%
Description
The Task center should have links for create new tasks. There is no hint, in overview i can read
Create a task
It is simple to extend the taskcenter by a custom task. For more information please look into the manual of the extension 'taskcenter'.
But - i don't want extend, i want to use. Very hard for new users. manual? Where? How to read? Hint: add a link

where to link, to the manual? tasks can't be created using a simple link

yes, also the manual can be linked in the overview while quoting it - would help ;)
And yes, task creation can be linked, not difficult but great for the user.
Only with db query you have to do 2 steps.

Totally agree. I don't have a clue on where and how to create tasks! There is no button whatsoever to create a task. My initial thought was that it is broken (there must be a button to create a task!). But seeing this thread I conclude that there is actually a way to create a task??
And yes a manual would be a second choice. Can't find that either. But it shouldn't be necessary to have a manual for something as simple like this..

@bart: there is a task inside the taskcenter extension. it can also be called inside the extension manager.
again: it is not that simple to create a task as it is like a task for the scheduler. so there can't be a button to create a task. please watch your words

Watch my words? If I open the task center the first thing I read is this: "The task center provides access to your internal To-Do list, messages, Quick-note.. etc..".
How can there 'not' be a button to make a to-do, a message or a note?
Let me rephrase my original question: If I open the task manager I read that the task manager can let me do this: "provides access to your internal To-Do list, messages, Quick-note". So how do I make a quick-note, how do I make a To-Do etc. ? Do I need another extension for that? If so, it should be stated in the introduction of the taskmanager.
And in my understanding of the description that one can read when opening the taskcenter any of these items is considered a 'task'. So yes there can be a button for that. If not, then the description of the taskcenter is ambiguous.
PS. please beware. I'm just giving free feedback on my user experience of Typo3.

No need for you guys to be nervous here.
Here is the issue:
Typo3 v. 4.4
When I installed the dummy package+source (clean install with no additional extensions) and went to the task center - according to the tutorials I have written so far there should be links or buttons to create new tasks, notes, messages etc.. But as you see in the Screenshot.png file attached by me - there is none.
So the question is: Is there should be such a feature? If yes - It compatible with v. 4.4, if no - how step by step to create a task or do we need to install any different addons?
Thank you.

Just an update to my previous response:
It turned out that the functionality in the task center in typo3 v. 4.4 can be reached by using extensions for notes, messages, etc... but half of the extensions are not compatible with 4.4 yet and (if I understand the comments left on the extensions page correctly) - they will be soon.
So if this is true, it would be great if someone confirm or deny it.
Regards.

Hi,
as this issue is very old. Does the problem still exists within newer versions of TYPO3 CMS (4.5 or 6.1)?
