Does this happen every time in every browser?

tested in IE and Firefox. Both browsers are affected.

Can I have a login for this installation? Does it only occur in this single one?

just now i solved it while trying to prepare the login.

what i did: earlier today i set the user settings to display the page module after logging in as described in #0014574. After settings this back (select the empty item at the top in the drop down menu) the backend loads correctly again. so it has something to do with faulty user settings i assume. maybe it's possible to reproduce it by messing with the be_users table.

Just tried to set startup module to Page, but this wasn't enought ;-)

If you can reproduce it again, please post the contents of the "uc" field in the be_users table.

no, resetting the user settings didn't do anything.

some further clarification:
setting the startup module to Page was the workaround for the reported problem, not the cause.

i am not the one who set up this installation and reportedly the problem started after installing some extensions. can't really say what extensions.

I just revisited this issue - I wasn't able to reproduce it now. Neither with your uc, nor with changing many values in user settings (which worked few days ago).
So no idea currently :(

Do you have Templavoilà or classic Page module?

uh.. been working on several different typo3 instances lately, some of them we took over from other people who used the classic page module. i believe this was one of those. so, with about 80% certainity it was the classic page module.

I had the same issue (see screenshot)
It was solved after i deleted the content of uc of the user in database.

If someone wants to analyze, i attached the uc settings of this user.

I have this issue too. PHP 5.3 TYPO 3 4.4.4 (2010-10-06)

Switching off (uninstall) TemplaVoila 5.2.1 caused the problem. Reïnstalling it solved the problem. I don't know why :-)

Marijn, have you TemplaVoila set as startup module in the User Settings?
