Bogus values added to Links (related: bug 14436) and after applying patch 14436: rte does not start at all (related: 15068?)

Description
When adding links with RTE the domain is added again to the link as prefix like "http://www.example.org/" will be changed to "http://www.ourdomain.net/typo3/http://www.example.org/" I found the patches for bug #22683 and applied 14436_4.2 (patch succeeded with two hunks...on t3lib/class.t3lib_parsehtml_proc.php) but after applying the patch rte is not starting anymore as described in bug #22683
We tested this with Firefox on Linux and MacOS and with Safari on MacOS.
The problem did not appear with IE...

which TYPO3 version are you using. tested it with latest 4.4?

Ooops, I thought I inserted the OS info/typo3 version info somewhere: No, not tested with 4.4 - we are using Debian Lenny/Stable/5.0.4 which is equipped with a rather old typo3: 4.2.5 (rte/htmlarea:1.7.8) We are addicted to Debian (=Debian stable is a must for our servers) therefore a solution for 4.2 would be highly appreciated :-)

4.2.x is already deprecated and furthermore you should update to 4.2.12 as this is the latest release of the branch including many bug fixes (also security related)!

ok, we will move on to 4.4 - just for the records: even on a minimal Debian Lenny installation (Typo3 4.2.5 from the Lenny repositories, skeleton HTML template, no addionital extensions) rte fails with the same error.

This issue was fixed for TYPO3 4.3, TYPO3 4.4 and trunk. Will not be fixed for TYPO3 4.2.
