Added by Thomas Löffler about 13 years ago.
Updated almost 11 years ago.
Description
I have a problem when switching to the german language.
Because of this umlaut problems all following code will not be displayed.
See it in the attached pics.
Maybe wrong encoded language file?

Strings with umlauts are displayed correctly for me. E.g. the headline from your second screenshot looks like that in the source: <h4>Diese Typen defekter Links prüfen</h4>
.
How does the sourcecode look like when you get this error?
Does it end before the umlaut? Or does it go on and the umlaut is wrongly encoded?
Here is a screenshot of the code of the second example. Right before the umlaut "ü" the header tag is closed and the followed code to check the links is not built.
Tested in:
- Chrome 14.0.835.186
- Firefox 7.0.1
- Safari Version 5.1 (7534.48.3)
All browsers on Mac OS X Lion.
Today also get the problem on the latest FF on Win7.
I hope you can reproduce the problem.
I am sorry, I am not able to reproduce this with Chromium.
Could you please check what your charset is?
In TYPO3, in PHP and also in your browser.
What is your exact TYPO3 version?
There was it.
I fixed the problem by setting the BE charset to "utf-8". :)

Thanks for your feedback. As UTF-8 is the supported charset in 4.5 and other charsets have been deprecated since long, I am goint to close this one.
