Bug #39203

User settings cannot be saved
Added by Mario Rimann almost 12 years ago.
Updated over 5 years ago.
Description
When I'm logged in as an admin-BE-user, I cannot edit my own user's settings in User Tools -> User Settings
Entering a name or email address into the input fields and saving, the entered data is lost
Choosing a language from the dropdown and saving, the chosen language is lost
Entering a name or email into the corresponding field directly in the database and loading the form in BE: the entered data is availabld (altough changing it via the BE form fails).
Chosing a language by setting it directly in the serialized array of the UC field directly in the database, the language shown is still the default language (but maybe that's a problem of the manual changes in the serialized array).
Modifiying and saving changes to other record types (e.g. tt_content) work without problems.
Wouter Wolters just tested it and it might be a local issue with my setup. I'll update this issue as soon as I checked in a (really) clean installation
I just did another check for this one and also saving my e-mailaddress is working nicely.

I've set up a clean TYPO3 installation (master from this morning, dummy package, empty database, brand-new backend-user) and can reproduce the issue.
Thanks to the others here at the Security Team Code Sprint, I now know what went wrong: I didn't click the floppy-icon to save (positioned on top of the form since 11th of April 2012). I just hit enter while being within the input field and wondered why it didn't save.
