Swift Mail Adapter fails to handle additional Paramters

t3lib_mail_SwiftMailerAdapter -> mail:
the $additionalParameters Parameter used to extract a potential return path.
This is done by the following regular expression:
/-f\s*(\S*?)/
But the subpattern returns an empty string, due to the nongreedy operator, if it matches.
This expression should be:
/-f\s*(\S*)/.

Ignore the point at the and of the expression:
/-f\s*(\S*)/

as this issue is very old. Does the problem still exists within newer versions of TYPO3 CMS (6.2.9)?

The adapter was only included as a temporary solution until extensions used the new mail API. Major extensions use it for quite a while and this adapter shouldn't be necessary in 4.5 installations. In newer core versions the adapter was deprecated and removed.
It was also decided by the Release Manager and release team that no improvements to this adapter would be made because it was only a temporary solution.
