[GFX][thumbnails] = 1 not working

Description
In Install too if i set [GFX][thumbnails] = 1 blank thumbnail images are created for gif and png images.
The same configuration works very well for jpeg/jpg images.

Hi!
Looks like a problem with the image manipulation tools.
Please use the Test Setup section in the Install Tool and run the various image rendering tests.
Furthermore, I kindly ask you to ask such questions on the mailing lists or forums first as Forge is not used for support questions, but for bugs reports only.

Thanks for the feedback.
I have checked the image manipulation tools in my Test Setup and everything seems to work as intended in my Typo3 installation.
So my assumption was that, it would be a core bug. Anyways i will check this deeply and will inform you my findings.
