Replacing an image in Workspace leads to Error Message

Description
If you replace an existing image by a new image in tx_news, the news can't be shown.
Error: "Supplied file object type TYPO3\CMS\Core\Resource\Folder must be File or FileReference"

I am not able to reproduce it with TYPO3 6.2.12 and the latest news extension, but before closing it I want to be sure that I've done all the steps correctly.
1) I created a custom workspace
2) I log in as editor (has workspace membership)
3) I create a news item and added an image
4) the news is not visible in FE (it is in the custom workspace)
5) I push the news till the "published" status
6) now the news is visible
7) upload a new image in the news item (I am still in the workspace) adn save
8) the old image is visible in FE
Am I forgetting something? Can you describe exactly all the steps you have done to obtain the error? Thank you
