Defining the “default” language flag

Hallo,
i need to define the default language label and flag.
So i read the article on: https://docs.typo3.org/typo3cms/FrontendLocalizationGuide/BasicSetupOfALocalizedWebsite/DefiningTheDefaultLanguageFlag/Index.html
Notice: This setting is for example used by the Web>Page module and the Web>List module.
i put the code in my pageTS under my root site.
mod.SHARED {
defaultLanguageFlag = de
defaultLanguageLabel = DE
}
On "web->list" all is fine, i see the flag and the new default label.
On "web-page", i choose on top: columns view): i see flags. this is great.
But if i switch to language view, nothing changed. The label is just "Default" and not my defined label and i also see no flags.
i mean it is a bug, or have i do something wrong?
My Typo3 version: 7.6.4 on a local system.
