normaly the files are sorted by name. as there is no easy way to navigate in folders with many files to the last page it can be a lot of clicks.
changing the sorting to different fields (asc or desc) could be a great help. This may include the option to show more fields than the usual (similar to the web-list module for regular records)

using the search option sometimes (if there are a lot of results) is no help as the results are shown without any order.
Here also a sorting is very welcome to get an overview how many files in which folders are. the sorting may occur on filenames or path.

summary:
1. enable to show multiple fields per file like in the web-list module
2. enable to sort for any field (asc/desc)
3. enable sorting for search results
