Once upon a time, we had a feature in the EM search list (the second tab I mean, where you install extensions from TER), that an extension name matching exactly the search word would be listed first place. It seems, this feature has gone missing.

Try and search with a current master setup (no composer, obviously) and try to install ext:news. Enter 'news' into the search field, press enter. And then you need a well working scroll wheel.
