Handle errors in row updaters

Description
If an error is detected in a row updater there is no way to continue the migration, log the error and inform the user about the error.
use the logging api for logging errors.
add infrastructure to report errors to the user in the wizard.
add a check for the link updater to handle failed preg* calls.
