thanks for creating the issue. I try to reproduce it but I currently fail. What I did:
- Using a file in a content element
- Switch to filelist, to the used file, click on the File Information
- A modal of the file info opens, scrolling down to the "References to this item"
- Clicking on the edit icon opens another modal which opens the content element of step 1
- any changes there are persisted
what did I do wrong?

The content element itself could be changed but if you try to change the assigned file it will open a new modal and if I choose another file the modal keeps open. If I close it with the "x" the assigned file is the same as before.

Sorry for the so late reply! I think I am able to reproduce this issue with 10.3.0-dev
Steps to reproduce
1) Create a content element, type: Text and Images
1.1) Tab Images > add image > select an image already present in file list (let's call it "File1.jpg"), save and close
2) Go to filelist
3) on "File1.jpg" > click on file information icon
3.1) It opens the file info modal > scroll it to the section "References to this item"
4) on the row where the files has been referenced, click on the edit icon
5) Another popup opens, it allows to edit the "Text and Images" content created at point 1)
6) Tab images > add image select another image already present in file list (let's call it "File2.jpg")
Expected result¶
The file will be added to the list of references
Current Result¶
Nothing happens, the file is not added
