Hey guys,

I'm working on a project with > 50 forms that need to be migrated to EXT:form and realized the extension is lacking any feature to enable sorting for the dropdown in the FE plugin.

TYPO3\CMS\Form\Mvc\Persistence\FormPersistenceManager

is in charge of creating arrays for the dropdown that are processed by the

TYPO3\CMS\Form\Hooks\DataStructureIdentifierHook

The methods

FormPersistenceManager->retrieveYamlFilesFromStorageFolders()

and

FormPersistenceManager->retrieveYamlFilesFromExtensionFolders()

are in charge of the related arrays with items in a random order. If there was just an

asort()

for the returned array in place, one could structure the forms by some naming convention and improve the usability for editors a lot.
