Task #92016
closedOnly show widgets to add if they are not in the current dashboard
0%
Description
Widgets should provide a simple overview of a status or quick access to actions.
Therefore, a user (editor) configuration of a widget doesn't make sense at all. So there is no benefit in adding a widget multiple times to a single dashboard.
Removing the widgets from the add wizard, that have already been added to the dashboard, also has the advantage that a user can quickly see which other widgets he can add.

We will not implement such a feature. Currently working on the possibility to configure a widget as a user which can cause multiple widgets of the same type but with a different configuration.
What might be an option, is to show in the modal that a specific widget is already present on the current dashboard. What do you think about such a thing?

hey. i hope it's ok to close here for now: richard's answer "we will not implement" was pretty clear and a possible improvement to show existing usage of a widget when adding one could be done in a fresh issues in case anyone wants to pick this up.
