Description

It would be a great feature to have the flexibility of the common link wizard (and link handler) for pages of type "shortcut". This way it would be possible to set a page shortcut to individual records like "news" or similar... If this is hard to implement (what I suppose), perhaps a new shortcut type "linkwizard / linkhandler" could be an option.

Tested today on a TYPO3 11.5.33 installation.

Changing the TCA of the url field to a renderType=inputlink would do the trick.
All links, including linkhandlered are processed in the menus for pages with doktype "link to external url".

Thus, there should be only one shortcut page type that would be handled with an link input.

It seems as easy as that.

I don't know if this is the direction you want to go in: But a very similar topic was discussed in https://review.typo3.org/c/Packages/TYPO3.CMS/+/77700. Unfortunately, the discussion has fallen asleep somewhat as there is little priority. However, you are welcome to join the discussion and provide feedback.

Hi Guido, thanks for your hint. I like the idea discussed in the other issue! I hope anybody will proceed there…
