Bug #11585
closedDrop percentage indication?
0%
Description
I suppose the usefulness of the "percentage change" indication has been discussed. I find it utterly useless, especially since it is sometime even outright wrong (e.g. hide a page, the change indicator says 0%). For example, if a change a couple of letters in a page title, I get a 2% change indication. What does it really mean? How is it supposed to be helpful?
Any reasons why this was kept?

That's a good question. I used the old implementation to calculate the change percentage but I am not very happy with this solution. I had no idea which algorithm could be used to get a better value of change percentage.
When you change content I think there are about 40 or 50 attributes who can changed. So if you hide a content-element the change percentage should be 2%?!? One attribute of 50 attributes are 2% and 100% of this attribute changed.
IMO this value is useless. But: If someone have an idea for a better algorithm I would implement it.

I think we'll keep it hidden for now and close the issue for the sake of a clean bugtracker.
