Adding existing records

Description
I don't see a possibility to add existing records, there is only a link for "create new"
Is this planned or possible in any way ?

Importing/relating to existing records is possible on using an intermediate table (m:n relationship). It is also possible to edit this imported record on using the combined mode.
Or did you mean something completely different?

Hi Oliver,
i looked through the examples in the IRRE Tutorial but i did'nt saw this possibility.
Anyway i have a 1:n relation and looked for the possibility to add existing records like you do in db-relation-fields with the element browser.
This could be very useful if you create new parent-records having same childs.

This possibility is mentioned at http://typo3.org/uploads/media/Inline_Relational_Record_Editing_01.pdf at the section "3.4.3. Use combined mode for complex relational editing".
The side-effects on the "combined mode" is mentioned also in bug #17255

This seems to be no bug, more or less a question and answer.
The more detailed IRRE adding existent record seems to be here #18968
