Bug #17604

Error: The requested page didn't have a proper connection to the tree-root!
Added by Sonja Schubert about 17 years ago.
Updated about 6 years ago.
Description
The Error above occurs, if a user opens a link to a page which is secured by login and which has the type "Not in menu".
Thats bad, because, normally the user should be forwarded to the next login page top of the linked page.
If the user is logged in as fe_user with the rights to the linked page, it won't show also.

Files
It's not if you have the type "Not in menu", it happens if the type is "shortcut".
I added a xclass which handles those two remaining possibilitys why a page is not shown how it should be handled.
But the problem it selve is within the rootLine!
Hi Sonja
You have deleted your main shortcut page. So that's y error is coming.
Create new shortcut page for this page. It will be run.
Hope you will do well.......
Resolved, no change required:
Linking to an access restricteed page as a shortcut target is probably no good idea, this should be avoided. Better solution: Link to first subpage as shortcut target, then create the access restricted page first as subpage and a non-restricted page as fallback as second page. More complex linking (eg. across page tree) must be handled differently, eg. by creating different shortcut pages with the same rights as the target pages.
I'll close this issue for now. If someone points out further problems and real solutions, please create a new issue and relate it to this one.
