Confirmed.

With the attached patch applied to current trunk (revision 5890+), the RTE loads correctly and content may be entered and edited. However, linked style sheets are not accessible (browser bug?) and therefore features that depend on access to style sheets do not work: block style and text style selectors, showing language marks and table borders...

This is a timing issue.

Please test the attached v2 patch against trunk.

I don't like the solution, but I could not determine what is missing when the stylesheet links are appended to the iframe. Opera 10 silently appends the links, but they are neither applied nor accessible. This s a browser regression, as it used to work correctly in Opera 9.

Thanks Stan, works for me (although the delay really isn't nice).
Also successful tested it with 4.2

Could we/you/I report anything to the Opera guys?

Typo3 4.2.8 and Typo3 4.3.0 alpha 1: RTE doesn't work in Opera 10

The patch cannot help.

Actions #6

Why CAN it not help? Sounds like you know the solution and the patch does it totally the wrong way...
Or doesn't it only help for you?

Please remove all typo3temp/rtehtmlarea/* files and try again!

Actions #7

The patch is in the typo3-Websites unsuccessful tested. Sorry!
I had removed all typo3temp/rtehtmlarea/* files: RTE displays no words, too.

Browser cache deleted?
Just tried it again and it works again (with trunk).

Actions #9

Updated by Tobias Franz about 15 years ago

Yes, the browser cache is deleted. RTE displays "the editor is being loaded".

This seems to be another problem.. For me the textarea was shown, but emtpy and not editable.

@Tobias: please open a new issue for the error you encountered as it obviously is not the same issue. When doing so, please use the EM to enable RTE troubleshooting mode and disable compressed scripts, and report the contents of the log displayed below the RTE editing area. Report also any javascript error displayed on the Opera browser error console.

@Steffen: If you wish to report the issue to Opera, you may do so. But their bug tracker in not open and they never gave me any feedback on the issues I reported to them in the past. They may also require a test case that is not so easy to construct.

Unfortunately I see this bug not completely fixed. It mostly occurs on the first load of RTE in TYPO3 on a remote server. On localhost it works flawlessly - so I assume the set sleep-time is too low.

I found a better solution for this issue, tested with Opera 10. Would need to be tested also with Opera 9.5 or 9.6.

Foolow-up patch applies to current trunk or TYPO3 4.3 beta3.

Yeah, looks good. Also tested with 9.6 (as 9.5 isn't supported, right?) on a UMTS connection (higher latency).

It would be nice, if you could set the sponsorship as paid :)

Thanks for fixing, Stanislas!

Yes, sorry for the delay. I set the sponsorship as paid. Again, many thanks.

@Tobias: Please report if the follow-up patch did fix the issue for you. This should be fixed in latest releases of TYPO3 4.3 and 4.2.

Sorry for my late feedback. The patches work. Thank you. P.S.: The new versions of opera have no problem.
