Description
The help pop-up is so annoying, can it be disabled?

No there is no such option. There was a lot of discussion about this and the result was to not have any option. Or do you - by chance - know some software where you can disable the help popups?

Bad decision. There are lots of items and functionalities that can be en- or disabled. One should expect that this is one of them. More experienced users really have no need for this. For now I have added a script in my browser that prevents these pop-ups.

Although there was this decision to force all users to always have these pop-ups activated, I agree with you that there are users, who do not need them (for several reasons).

What do you think about publishing this as an extension in TER?
Having such an extension available out of the box would surely help these users.

It's a browser enhancement for Chrome. Unfortunately I'm not capable of writing T3 extensions, PHP is not my cup of tea...
Core developers just have to add the option to disable it, how hard can it be. It would be illogical to create an extension for such a small feature.

Any news on this? Would love an option to disable the CSH.

Yeah, same here.
For me, the help popups became annoying after a while.
I also uninstalled the core extension "Context Sensitive Help" on a 6.2b5 installation, and the icons are still there without any function. Some of them are hardcoded (###CSH###).

The csh help popups in a current version are based on the abbreviation tag and the user has to actively click on the help text. I'm closing this feature request now as the original problem is therefor solved. Please open another ticket with your use case if this is not enough to solve the problem for you.
