Not sure if this is the right place (Forge says TYPO3 6.0 instead of 4.5), but here goes:

Since the new extension manager it is no longer possible to import older versions of extensions, if you don't have the t3x file.
This is sometimes necessary for certain extensions (e.g. t3mootools) that cause incompatibilities with other extensions.

In the old extension manager you could search for an extension in the repository, then simply import the newest version or load an older version.

It would be nice if this feature is brought back.
