Multiple domain records in one tree don't work
Added by Nicole Cordes over 12 years ago.
Updated over 9 years ago.
Description
Image a oage tree like this
- Home <-- Domain record: domain1.tld
-- Page 1
-- Page 2
-- Page 3 <-- Domain record: domain2.tld
-- Page 4
-- Page 5
Rendering the links for menu doesn't work as it uses the wrong (first) domain. If the "force" flag for both URLs is set it should remove the page link itself.
- Status changed from New to Under Review
Actually I never though of having multiple domain records in one site being a good idea anyway...
How would you configure a domain which should just point to a specific site.
well, first we should get some terms straight.
site = website / a tree with root page with one or more domains on that root page
page = a single page in a tree, should not have domains on them
You can use "External URL" page type or a shortcut if it is a TYPO3 page. But nested domains neither work well, nor they are supported by majority of extensions (incl. RealURL).
I suggest you just drop the idea and do it in the right way: without nested domains. You are not the first one, who tried to solve it :)
If you set "Enable as root page" to "Page 3", Typolinks should work properly. At least in my setup.
Hi Nicole,
what is the state of this issue?
- Assignee set to Nicole Cordes
- Is Regression set to No
- Status changed from Under Review to Rejected
Core won't support nested domain records. We have to find another solution here. As it seems anyone else having the problem I close this ticket.
