Description
We currently ship 1.6 and since June 2011 they are on the 2.x-train.
Notes for the 2.0 don't seem to indicate a "whole new API" or so.

Is Modernizr currently only used for the backend itself? (Didn't find much upon a quick search.)
2.x is modularized, so this might allow to bring down the footprint we need to ship if we are sure which features are needed.

Only used for the backend, too late for 6.0

if it's just an update of a library we're shipping already, I don't see a problem...

Do you know it this library is needed after bootsrap for Backend?
Updated by Stefan Neufeind about 10 years ago
At least it is currently still referenced/used in BackendController.php as well as DocumentTemplate.php.

Hey guys, currently we do not use standalone html5shiv/html5shim yet. Yes, until then we need modernizr. Also there might be features in the backend that rely on the modernizr feature detection.

What parts do we actually need / want to in the included version? Adding "all" might not be too useful for both size and speed I guess.
