Bug #44075
closedmulticolumn forces typo3 to stop after "importing"
0%
Description
Installing the ext multicolumn stops typo3 backend showing this error:
Fatal error: Class 'tx_multicolumn_div' not found
in typo3conf/ext/multicolumn/ext_tables.php on line 36
In my opinion it is a no-go that extension and the extension-manager
forces typo3 to stop working at all: No bakend, no frontend, no install.
There should be at least a chance to deinstall
the faulty extension without ftp.
There should be a separation again into first fetching extension
into typo3 and then install/deinstall an extension as in former typo3-versions.
With the new direct-install in the moment of importing a new extension
there no longer is any chance to inspect/change/patch the code or view the manual
before installing a new extension.

- Status changed from New to On Hold
In TYPO3 6.2 this will be possible in the Install Tool. The Install Tool has a check to see if there are extensions breaking the installation.
