Description

a lot of information and individual configuration is stored serialized in be_users.uc
so there is an option to "Reset Configuration and Clear Temporary Data" respective only "Clear Temporary Data" it always clears all data.
having extensions which use their own part of data and which may need an reset it always resets all configuration.

it would be a great easement having the opportunity to clear this data more selective. for example clear just the configuration/data of extension xy, clear just the data about pagetree (which nodes are open, which are closed).

example:
extension quixplorer stores the last used folder. if this folder got deleted or renamed from other side the next start of the quixplorer module hangs: you need to restore/clear all userdata and all information about pagetree, columns shown in list view, .... is gone

As we aim for a cleaner and simpler backend, this request seems quite complex (because most data cannot be detected to which extension it belongs).

I suggest that a non-core extension could provide such functionality if needed. This could be released in the TER, but this will definitively not make it into TYPO3 CMS Core.
