I tried it inside the default fileadmin folder with cut a file from one subdirectory and paste it into an other subdirectory.
It shows only the filenames in the move message box.

What special things I have to do for reproducing the behavior?

You have to use a custom FAL driver (not the stock used for fileadmin/). The default FAL driver uses the path as ID, so you don't see the difference.

I tried it with a dropbox driver on master, all is fine.
Which custom FAL driver are you using?

We have a custom one that uses uuids as IDs. I don't know how the dropbox driver works internally, but it seems as if it is using paths as ID.
