RTE: Images are not generated reduced - only the height and width attribute is changed

Description
When images inserted in RTE and its size be changed, only the height and width attribute is changed. The path to the image points to the original image in the source folder (look FE source). If the image is not scaled to the appropriate size (file admin \ processed)?!
I think that was standard until now?!

Well, it depends, are you referring to images inserted as plain images or as magic images?

I refer to the TYPO3 version 7.2.0-dev, which I have forgotten.
So, the picture size is not changed in all three ways. Not as a normal image, not as magical picture and not with drag and drop.
In FE is always referenced to the original image

But I do not understand.
I am using an almost naked basic installation without additional configuration - not even for the RTE. Only the most necessary configurations.

Did you run all the Setup test of the install tool?

Thus, for safety's sake I have now completed all the tests in the Installation Tool positive. Also, the test images without any problems. No special occurrences.

My Feedback!
I've had some time pass. I have the past, present TYPO3 7.2.0-dev recorded. Unfortunately, nothing has changed. The images are not reduced. The image path always points to the original image in the source folder. I tried it on three different installations - nothing changes ?!

Can't reproduce on current master.
- Created new CE.
- Added "magic image" to RTE.
- Changed size to 200x200
Output load processed file.

Hello!
I have found a possible cause or maybe helping them following note on.
I made a new naked TYPO3 installation (7.2.0) on my Hoster "Weiland". No additional extensions or configurations! I have in the installation tool the "Development settings Enable debug output ..."
enabled.
I have enabled in rtehtmlarea "Enable Images in the RTE". That's all!
Then I have a content element of the type created "Regular text element". Then I add about the icon an image. About "New Magic Image". This image is scaled down accordingly and is in processed >>> SUPER !!!
But if I now repeat the process or insert a new image in the same way, then my mistake described is produced. The image is not scaled down and pointing at the source path! Now I arrive at the following:
When I open the user settings and here in the tab "Edit & Advanced functions" to "Clear Temporary Data" button press, I get the following error:

I have also sent a screenshot (error-after-clear-temp).
If I then insert a picture and repeating this process, it works again. Then I have to repeat the process, etc. It only works whenever the "Clear Temporary Data" button press! It also comes always this error message.

Now I can even more accurate notice!
When I use the file browser "Insert Image" open over the icon and a picture of "New Magic Image" select them it does not work!
But if:
When I use the file browser "Insert Image" open over the icon and a picture of "New Magic Image" select them, but first click on the appropriate folder in the Folder Tree and then select them the picture, it is working properly !!!! ????
So it always works. So only when I previously click on the appropriate folder and is updated so !! ??
Why do I have the Folder Tree before updating to make it work ???

I can confirm the issue with images not being scaled upon inserting them into RTE.
Inserting a "magic image" and clicking an image title directly, fails to scale the inserted image. Selecting a folder from the tree first and clicking the title then works as expected.
@Harald: Am I assuming right, that I may change the title of this issue to "Inserting magic images into RTE fails when selecting an image directly"?

When I insert a "normal image" it does not work with:

Ok, first investigation reveals the issue.
When opening the Insert Image dialog, the first tab (magic image) is selected, but internally it thinks it is the plain-image tab.
Therefore it inserts a plain image instead of the magic one. Clicking the tree once, solves the issue by having the correct internal state.
