One can't save a news item in IE 11 (6.2.11 and news 3.1.0).
According to Georg Ringer there is no magic with the form engine, so it is rather core related.
Can't find a proper error message on the console except of:
SCRIPT1010: Bezeichner erwartet Datei: alt_doc.php, Zeile: 1, Spalte: 9

I close this issue as duplicate, because the cause is described here: #66876 (the combined presence of the attribute "placeholder" and datepicker on 6.2.x) ; please continue the discussion there.
