It is not possible to preview a page which is using http protocol when typo3 backend is using https.

Steps to reproduce:

Set page property "protcol" to http
Force backend using ssl
Right click on page in pagetree and choose "view"

Possible solution:

Do not redirect in TypoScriptFrontendController::fetch_the_id() when a backend user is logged in.
