Description

Functionality from "content_defender" should be integrated directly into the core. It is an essential functionality which allows integrators to set up a really clean system / ux from (from an editors point of view) and it would improve the system in general. There are many instances missing exactly this restriction (integratiors don't know this extension at all or forget to integrate it).

Extension author said it would be ok to move her code or parts of it into the core (possibly some modifications are required). There is also somebody who would implement this in context of a "sponsored development".

Estimated ~ 1.500 - 2.200 EUR would be required for this. I would pay some money for this myself (~ 300 - 500 EUR), but additional sponsors are required. Please ask your boss, other freelancers, friends... ;)

Hi,

As the extension author of content_defender I just want to clarify what I do/don't expect from any integration of my extension into the core.

I expect:

- a concept of integration into datahandler (or any upcoming datahandler solution) and its permission check
- a solution to extend configuration "on-the-fly" for other extensions to be able to integrate their own configuration (support for grid/coloumn extensions)

I don't expect:

- copy&paste of the existing hooks into any core extension

Hey Nicole,

from my PoV (as Core maintainer) I would not accept ANY change that adds your code 1:1 (Copy/Paste) from any other person than you (just to keep the copyright to you, as it is you work).

And I agree with you with your expectations
