Bug #30681

All fields of 'type'=>'group' are broken in IE
Added by Steffen Gebert about 13 years ago.

Backend User Interface
Description
All fields, which are defined as 'type' =>' group'
are broken in IE8 and IE9. You can't add more than one entry, neither using the Element Browser, nor using the suggest wizard (yes.. that is visually broken, too..)

Can confirm this with IE9/Vista.
BTW: This is new in master! There was a patch by Stefan Geith, doing some things with the group fields. I suspect it to be responsible for that problem. Will try to find out..
Two problems:
- The TCA property 'multiple' was checked to decide if the HTML attribute 'multiple' should be added to the select element. However, the TCA property 'multiple' is used to allow the same item to be selected more than once. It has nothing to do with the HTML attribute.
- The JS code to check if the HTML attribute 'multiple' was set used the method .getAttribute(). Various sources report that support for this is buggy in many browsers. The check fObj.getAttribute('multiple') == null is true in Firefox if the multiple attribute is not present at all. The dot property 'multiple' is better for this purpose.
