Backend User Interface
Description
If you create a new Backenduser with the TOP-Icon of the Usertabe in Listview (see attached Screenshot) the following Checkboxes are activated by default:
Mount from groups:
-DB Mounts:
-File Mounts:
If you create a new Backenduser with the RIGHT-Icon next to an existing User in Listview, this two Checkboxes are NOT activated by default.
It is very tricky to find the problem when the new user wont work...
Files
difference is in URL:
top icon: &edit[be_users]0=new
right icon: &edit[be_users][-1]=new
- Status changed from New to Needs Feedback
- Is Regression set to No
Hi,
as this issue is very old. Does the problem still exists within newer versions of TYPO3 CMS (6.2.9)?
Yes, it is in all TYPO3 Versions up to 6.2.9
But i haven't tested in TYPO3 7.x.

Hi and sorry for the late answer.
I think that the [-1]
in the URL refers to the ID of the existing user.
I am not able to reproduce it not only in both 6.2.15 and 7.5-dev (latest master) but even in 4.7.18!! As far as I can see, when you click the create Icon next to an existing User, it copies the options from the existing user, so if the "Mount from groups" of the existing user are not set, the same options will not be set on the new user.
this behavior has been tested on both 4.7.18, 6.2.15 and 7.5-dev (latest master).
Do you think it is sufficient to consider it closed? Thank you.
Thank you for your answer.
You are right, "the options from the existing user" is the solution.
I always tested the following situation:
I clicked on the right icon of an admin user. And admins don't have the two checkboxes visible. If i switch the admin to an editor, the checkboxes appears, but are not activated.
So this explains the behavior.
The question now is: Is this ticked closed and lets say "TYPO3 is still tricky"?
Or shouldn't it be, that on creating an editor (from an admin icon), this (for integrators) confusing behavior exists?
It's your choice ;)

I'm closing this issue, as IMHO the functionality is as expected. If you create a user from another one, which doesn't have the options selected, we can't activate this option.
Also I don't understand why you create a new user from an admin user if you don't want a new admin user.
Only for one reason: Sorting.
The top-icon creates a record on the top.
The icon in an existing record creates a record after it.
Sure, this takes only effect, if sorting is available. This is not the case with user records. Some of the editors are used to this behaviour.
It is ok, to close this ticket. Thank you for your effort.
Finally, the tooltip is wrong:
"Create new record after this record"
But I create a new ticket for this now.
