Description

On the tab "Get extensions" I get a spinning .gif only. It keeps spinning till the end of time.

I have read about all pages handling this topic. Mine seems a bit different than others. And no solutions. No buttons on the right, for instance. So, sorry if I create a double call now.

If I upload an extension "by hand", any extension is immediately installed. Is that how the new extension manager works?? Where can I download extensions now, including the data from the tables? Or do I miss functionality because of the issue?

The only thing I find in my install (all tables are there):
Invalid table and field definitions in $TCA!

sys_log
Field name: Suggested database field:
detail_nr tinytext

That's all.

Perhaps it is something I miss on my new server, but I have no clue since I cannot detect special requirements that I haven't fulfilled so far. And other people seem to have this issue too.

Version 4.7.7 works not without problems. In my 4.7.7 I could set the preferred mirror. And that helped.

I tried both Fast-CGI and Mod-PHP. No permission issues.

By the way: language updates don't work either.

I'm struggling with this issue for 4 days now. So it can't be the downtime of TYPO3 servers.

I changed the mirror settings in the install tool. Had no effect at all. Even if I typed wrong paths in the mirror fields (no error messages).

I think this issue is caused by a missing typoscript template.

Clicking on Get extensions invokes the method updateExtensionListFromTerAction which leads to a fatal error as long as you don't have a typoscript template.

Fatal error: Call to a member function getExtensionCount() on a non-object in /opt/local/apache2/htdocs/typo3/TYPO3_6-0-0/typo3/sysext/extensionmanager/Classes/Controller/UpdateFromTerController.php on line 105

The fatal error is caused by a missing repositoryUid setting. It's defined in the file ext_typoscript_setup.php (which I thought is deprecated). The content of such a file is available in every setup section of a typoscript template. So you need to have at least one typoscript template to hold that information. Therefore a workaround is to just create a typoscript template for a new site.

I do have a ts template and clean fresh t3 install on php 5.4 fcgid with plenty of features, all works but EM, curl enabled or disabled all the same

I can confirm this on local OSX with MAMP and PHP Version 5.3.14

I had the very same problem with a fresh installation of 6.0.

Running through all the steps of the Upgrade Wizard within the Install Tool and clearing out all caches(DB & Files), resolved the problems with the Extension Repository and Language Administration in my case.

Well, how I solved this now, after a retry:

- fresh install
- upgrade wizard, because the system behaves like 3.8.0 out of the box (!!!)
- set curl = 1
- go to EM, get extensions
- perhaps click the text on the upper right (that's a link!!!)
- and then it goes fast

This does not solve the problem for me.

For 6.2 I assume. How would one properly fix this issue e.g. in 6.1?
