Description
If a referenced file (sys_file_reference) points to a non existing id in the table sys_file you get this exception.

No file found for given UID
This problem only occurs if the database is inconsistent, which may happen during development.
Instead of erroring out with an exception, the page view shows the file as missing with a small explanatory message - see the screenshot.

I do not think this should be handled in FileReference object but on the place where the object is called.
Is there also an exception on FE?

No, there is no FE rendering error. Which probably means that the error is caught there already.
