Description

- TYPO3 version 6.2.1 (same behavior in 6.2.0)

same configuration like a working 4.5.x project:
- two workspaces are defined (LIVE-workspace and EDIT-workspace)
- be_groups are set (Responsible persons, Owners, Users)

If you send changes to the next/previous stage no notification email will be sent.

This is a very important feature for our customers!

Yes, mails from install tool ("Test setup") working fine.

here are some screenshots of the configuration. Configuration should be ok. Mails from install tool ("Test setup") are working fine.

The problem is due to using groups (owner, member) at workspace configuration.

It works, if you use users instead of groups as owner and members.

The report sounds like backend user groups are not correctly resolved into accordant users.

Will there be a fix for Typo3 6.2? I am currently setting up a new project for a customer who want to have a draft workspace and different user groups.

I could not reproduce that with a recent TYPO3 CMS 6.2.17 using groups and nested-groups. All mails could be delivered using the SMTP server settings from the install tool.
The notification handling concerning preselection and whom to notify has been rewritten in TYPO3 CMS 7 in issue #35245 - maybe you want to check that out instead.
