closedconnected mode: add new elements in alternative language
0%
Description
As an editor working in a translation in connected mode (translation mode) i should not be able to add new content elements in the linked alternative language
Acceptance Criteria:
• in page module Button „Content“ (new content element“ is in alternative language should not be visible
• in page module the option „More Options …/New Content Wizard“ in context menu should not be visible
• in list module the option „Create new record after this record“ should not be visible

I tried with 8.7.9 and an admin user, on a TYPO3 installation with two languages
Test setup:¶
- create a new page
- translate it into the alternative language
- create a content element in default language
- translate it into alternative language using "translate" option
This should be sufficient to trigger the "connected" mode for that page
Results¶
- page module > switch language to alternative language > there is no button to create a new element
- page module > switch language to alternative language > click on the icon of the content element > you still see the "new" icon - if you click on it and save a new element, you will create an inconsistency (see attached screenshot)
- page module > switch language to alternative language > click on the icon of the content element > you still see the icon "More Options …/New Content Wizard" - if you click on it and create a new element you will create an inconsistency (same as previous screenshot)
- page module > switch language to alternative language > edit the content element > there is still the "save and create a new one" option - if you click on it and save a new element, you will create an inconsistency (same as previous screenshot)
So, I would add this last point to the acceptance criteria.
in list module the option „Create new record after this record“ should not be visible
I have not fully understood the scenario here.

I've repeated the last test I've done on TYPO3 10.0.0 (latest master)
Test setup:¶
- create a new page
- translate it into the alternative language
- create a content element in default language
- translate it into alternative language using "translate" option
- page module > switch language to alternative language > edit the content element > thanks to the refactoring of the "save" buttons, the "new" button on the top is absent
I have also performed the following new test:¶
- List view > click on the icon of the content in the default language > in the context menu you have the "new" icon; if you click on it and create a new content element, you will create a content element in the default language
- List view > click on the icon of the content in the default language > in the context menu you have the "More Options …/New Content Wizard" icon; if you click on it and create a new content element, you will create a content element in the default language
- List view > click on the icon of the content in the alternative language > in the context menu you have the "new" icon; if you click on it and create a new content element, you will create an inconsistency (see previously attached screenshot)
- List view > click on the icon of the content in the default language > in the context menu you have the "More Options …/New Content Wizard" icon; if you click on it and create a new content element, you will create an inconsistency (see previously attached screenshot)

I'm going to close this issue because it's scope is to broad currently and the wanted behaviour is not clearly defined. Creating inconsistencies / mixed mode is possible and will result in the warning in Riccardos screenshot. However, as the warning states: "Make sure this behaviour is intended" < we consider that there might be cases, where this mix is wanted currently. Up until we change that, this ticket is superfluous.
