Mass action menu is misleading
Added by Francois Suter almost 14 years ago.
Updated about 7 years ago.
Description
IMO the "mass action" menu is misleading. Indeed when you have selected several modified records and thenchoose an action you are de facto performing a mass action. I would suggest to move the mass action menu out of the data grid, to clearly show that it is not related to a selection performed in the grid.

Complicated topic - we had very long discussions with Jens and Lars and the current implementation is what we actually found to be a good compromise between technical needs and usability. I'd suggest to keep the current solution for 4.5, maybe straigh out the confirmation messages, and see what the reactions from TYPO3 integrators and editors are and discuss an further improvement for 4.6 - hope that's fine for you?
I can't say that I find this satisfying. Usability is a mix of known principles (objective) and personal taste (subjective). I don't have a usability diploma, but at least my taste tells me that the current implementation is suboptimal. So that's just my opinion. But I'm surprise that I'm the only one to find it confusing...
