Bug #46039
closedMissing image caption when adding an image to an existing content element
0%
Description
If I add one or more images to an existing content element, the caption is not rendered. There is no <figcaption> or <caption> element in the HTML source.
But if I create a new content element, the caption is rendered as expected.
TYPO3 6.0.2

The caption is just rendered if some text is provided for the caption. Very probable that I simply didn't understood your problem. :-)

Of course I entered a text for the captions.
The problem is: If I add an image to an existing content element, either after an update from 4.7 or on imported pages (via t3d-file), the <figcaption>-Element appears not in the HTML-Source.
But If i create a new content element on the same page, the caption is there.
We, my colleague and I, could reproduce this behaviour in 3 different TYPO3 6.0.2 installations.
Because my english is not very good, I could explain the problem in german too ;)

Just tried it again with an T3D import (this feature seems to be completely useless in 6.0... either it was throwing errors or it simply ignored any images), but your mentioned problem didn't appeared with the current master. Maybe just on migrated installations from 4.7 to 6.0?

No, in fresh 6.0.0, now 6.0.2 installations too.

Can you provide a step-by-step instruction on how to reproduce the issue?
Updated by Wolfgang Wagner over 11 years ago
Ok, step by step:
- Fresh installation with TYPO3 6.0.0
- exported some pages with content elements als t3d from a 4.7 installation
- imported the t3d in 6.0.0
- adjustments to show the images correct because of FAL, every image has a caption in the backend
- in the frontend this caption is not rendered, even if I switch the image in the content element
- if I create a new content element on the same page with a caption, it is rendered correctly.
Perhaps this is related to this bug in FAL? http://forge.typo3.org/issues/44752

Can you check, if you still have this issue with 6.0.3 or 6.0.4?

No, in 6.0.4 the caption is visible, everything seems to be ok.
