EXT:form - Validation of email should respect empty value
Added by Thomas Off almost 11 years ago.
Updated about 7 years ago.
Description
When using the email form validation, there should be an option to skip validation if the field is empty; in the current implementation it is not possible to validate a non-mandatory email field.

I consider this as a feature. It depends on the use case but there are some related problems when not having the email address as mandatory field. If it's the only email address field there can be related issues with the post processor which may depend on providing an email address. This is nothing we have to take care of but the integrator. Anyway this a behavioural change which should not go into TYPO3 6.x.
