Epic #68075: Remove ExtJS from backend
Port EXT:form to jQuery and TWBS
Added by Andreas Kienast about 10 years ago.
Updated over 8 years ago.
Description
ExtJS is removed piece by piece from core, but the system extension "form" depends heavily on ExtJS.
Port the extension to jQuery, requireJS and Twitter Bootstrap.
- Target version changed from 7.0 to 7.1 (Cleanup)
- Target version changed from 7.1 (Cleanup) to 7.4 (Backend)
- Parent task set to #68075
- Category changed from Form Framework to 1602
- Category changed from 1602 to Form Framework
- Target version changed from 7.4 (Backend) to 7.5
- Status changed from New to Needs Feedback
Some days ago we had a meeting with Patrick Broens, Olly Hader, Anja Leichsenring, and some other people. We decided to keep ExtJS for Version 7. We want to concentrate on fixing issues (see #69347). For version 8 we want to move to Web Components. So IMHO we should at leat move this ticket to "on hold".
What do you think?
- Status changed from Needs Feedback to On Hold
- Target version changed from 7.5 to 8 LTS
Hi,
I'm totally fine with this decision, especially since there are several parts of TYPO3 that have not been ported away from ExtJS yet.
- Status changed from On Hold to New
- Assignee deleted (
Andreas Kienast)
- TYPO3 Version changed from 7 to 8
- Status changed from New to Closed
- Target version deleted (
8 LTS)
I'm closing this issue. We're working on a blueprint to not only port the form wizard to jQuery. Instead, we have to think about new concepts of the wizard. There will be a new epic including sub-issues after the blueprint has been defined.
