Epic #53915: Usability and timing issues in Pagetree
Pagetree drag and drop delete gives misleading information with text and color
Added by Tanel Põld almost 14 years ago.
Updated almost 7 years ago.
Description
It would be good idea to make it more clear that page will be deleted if it's dragged into delete zone.
Idea:
To change "ctrl copy" text to "delete this page" if draging page over the drop zone
Blue color doesn't warn. I think it's good idea to warn user somehow that something will be deleted after a certain action.
or
Make undelete easier by making possible to open dropzone and see the list of latest deleted pages there with undelete option.
(issue imported from #M17002)
Make undelete easier by making possible to open dropzone and see the list of latest deleted pages there with undelete option.
That would be my favorably solution.
- Target version deleted (
0)
- Parent task set to #53915
- Is Regression set to No
- Tracker changed from Bug to Story
- Target version set to 7.4 (Backend)
- Translation missing: en.field_remaining_hours set to 0.0
- Target version changed from 7.4 (Backend) to 7.5
- Category set to Pagetree
- Target version changed from 7.5 to 8 LTS
- Target version changed from 8 LTS to 9.0
I report here the situation in version 8.7.6
1) the blue color is no more present AFAICS
2) "ctrl copy" text still not changes when the dragged page reaches the delete drop zone
3) Only the latest deleted page is visible in the drop zone
Make undelete easier by making possible to open dropzone and see the list of latest deleted pages there with undelete option.
I don't know if I agree with this solution . How many should be the "latest deleted pages"? 5? 10? 100?
Another solution could be a link to the recycler module (if installed) with the "pages" table pre-selected
- Status changed from New to Closed
- Target version deleted (
9.0)
We are very sorry to close this one, but with the new pagetree developed for version 9 this issue will no more be present (the "dropzone" has changed and it is no more possible to restore the deleted page from there); our efforts will now concentrate on finalizing the new component.
If you think that this is the wrong decision, please reopen it or open a new issue with a reference to this one.
